Born from the mind of Director Angelo Licata, Dark Resurrection is inspired from the Star Wars universe created by George Lucas. While maintaining a similar setting, Dark Resurrection brings to life a completely new and original set of characters. This new saga has brought millions of fans together throughout the world and has now come close to reaching its epic conclusion.
Without any ambitions of profit, the Dark Resurrection project is made possible thanks to the passion of those that have worked on it. All of the artists, technicians, every single individual that has participated in the two films; all have done so without receiving any financial compensation. It is their passion and desire to create something beautiful that drives them forward.
Free from any constraints or demands of big name productions, we were able to create exactly what we wanted.
Those who have supported us until now have done so for the same reasons as our staff; it is the pleasure of being part of this great project. And why not adorn their names in the films credits and on the project’s website? The glory is our only reward.
All of our films, including Vol. 2, will always be free and available on the Internet. Our project’s rewards (DVD, Blu-Ray, T-shirt etc.) are only symbols that we want to donate to you for being united and supporting our project. We believe the greatest symbol of all is being part of this team and having your name in the film credits of Dark Resurrection Vol. 2!
The first two Volumes were produced with a total budget of about $50,000. This time our project is much more ambitious and the estimated budget is at least $150,000! The screenplay for Vol. 2 was designed to be a real Hollywood quality movie, meeting the following characteristics:
- A movie with a total duration of 100-120 minutes
- The use of hundreds of extras
- The creation of several digital sets, both internal and external, in more than 20 different locations.
- Creation of several space ship models in 3D, photorealistic quality.
- Purchase of at least four workstations for elaborating and compositing 3D animations.
- Purchase of postproduction software and dedicated plugins.
- Use of Render farm to compensate for the large amount of information to process for postproduction
- An impressive Première organization
Most importantly, we expect to complete the movie in less than two years. This is an endeavor that will require an immense effort on our part, as it will be necessary to stage a film setting full-time, where we will bring together all of our experience gained from the first two Volumes, in order to obtain the best result possible.
All of the staff will work for free (as they have done from 2004, for 9 years) but the cost of renting the professional equipment and structures for a longer duration of filming will be very high.
As we have previous stated, all project participants will be volunteers and contribute to the project for free. However, it will still be necessary to pay for transport, accommodation, and catering for hundreds of people.
But the project objectives don’t finish here. We are preparing to outdo our previous projects by constructing real sets (the interiors of 2 space ships), many props of various types, and an enormous amount of original, custom-made costumes. We would also like to shoot in some of the spectacular locations throughout Italy.
All of this will depend on how much you will support us, how much you will believe in us, and how much you will feel part of this group, a group that is determined to reach a goal that has never been reached before.

It is amazing! A fan film much better than some high budget SF movies - Mauhey - Youtube
No doubt a tiny budget compared to Lucasfilm so on that note it was a masterpiece, Unreal to imagine that small fan films/indie/or large production are making Star Wars orientated movies better than some of the actual Star Wars series, but George Lucas still makes 4 billion dollars out of it in a single sale... - Brentacon - Youtube
The project Dark Resurrection was created in 2004 when Angelo Licata, a crazy visionary with a love of cinema, decided to produce a short film with some friends dedicated to his grand passion, “Star Wars”.
What should have only been a script of a just a few pages, in one night, evolved into a script for two one-hour films. Angelo was able to produce his first experiment with his friends. Dark Resurrection Vol. 1 came out in 2007 and became an enormous success. New artists were drawn to the project and an even greater number of professionals came together for this new venture without being paid. The Riviera Film Cultural Association (L’Associazione Culturale Riviera Film) – headed by Angelo Giampietro, supported the project and confirmed the non-profit nature of the films produced. The LOI (Lords of Illusion) will be the beating heart of the entire technical-artistic project of this next chapter. The last film, Volume 0, prequel of Dark Resurrection was released in 2011. Volume 0. cost only $40,000 to produce and was funded entirely by over 400 fans worldwide.
Director Angelo Licata, in collaboration with executive producer Fabrizio Rizzolo and many old and new colleagues, is fiercely working to complete this new project by developing an even larger, experienced and professional group of friends. The last chapter of this adventure, Volume 2 has now started. All of the Lord of Illusion is actively working on the pre-production of the last epic film of the saga, Dark Resurrection. We are ready, and YOU?
